Aged Earl Grey – Organic Black Tea from India with a Citrus-like Taste of Bergamot
Numi’s Aged Earl Grey is a black organic tea that is rich in caffeine. It is based on Assam tealeaves and essential oil from Bergamot, a citrus-like fruit. This tea is the ideal substitute for English Breakfast Tea and can be consumed when in need of an energy boost at any time of the day. The Numi Aged Earl Grey contains just enough caffeine to give you that extra little boost. Caffeine predominantly stimulates the nervous system, which is why it makes you more alert.
Assam vs. Darjeeling
The two most well known black teas are Assam and Darjeeling. Both are grown in various parts of India. Because of the difference in area, climate and environmental conditions, both Assam and Darjeeling tea have a very distinct and unique flavour. Assam tea is predominantly grown in more humid valleys, has a darker colour and has a more robust malt-like flavour. Darjeeling, on the other hand, grows in higher altitudes, at the foot of the Himalayas and has a much milder flavour. This Aged Earl Grey tea is made from Assam tea.
