Just like Zen Buddhists were already doing centuries ago, Amanprana has based its imperial ‘Kotobuki’ teas on the unique traditional Japanese production of Matcha.
We have created 3 imperial ‘Kotobuki’ teas: Matcha, Rooibos and Earl Grey. Amanprana ‘Kotobuki’ tea is produced from the whole youngest and finest leaves of the Camellia sinensis from Japan (Matcha), the Aspalathus linearis from South Africa (Rooibos), Darjeeling from the first picking and Assam from the first picking from India (Earl Grey).
The veins are expertly removed and the leaf is slowly ground in granite mills to an ultrafine tea powder. This is done at only 40g per hour, maintaining the quality, taste and nutrients.
Kotobuki for quality, taste and nutritional value
Kotobuki means ‘long life’ in Japanese. The Hippocrates' saying "Let food be your medicine and let medicine be your food" is one of the fundamental beliefs here at Amanprana. For this reason, Amanprana takes care to create products with the best quality, taste and highest nutritional values. The ground leaves of our Matcha, Rooibos and Earl Grey teas are superior foods.
The antioxidant level, expressed in ORAC, is exceptionally high in these teas. Polyphenols (which includes catechins) make up the largest group of protective substances in our food. These catechins are present in an abudance in our Kotobuki Match tea. In addition, the Kotobuki tea contains carotenes, vitamin E, fibre, minerals, tannings, 15 to 17 types of proteins (including all essential proteins) and much more! Not only is our tea extremely nutritious, it is also deliciously tasty!
137 times more EGCG catechins in Kotobuki Rooibos than in green tea
With Modern green, Earl Grey or Rooibos teas, 85% of nutrients stay in the tea bag and only 15% are dissolved into the teawater we drink. With Amanprana’s traditional ‘Kotobuki’ teas you drink the whole leaf. You are drinking all of the nutrients the tealeaves and ingredients have to offer!
This makes the imperial 'Kotobuki' tea much healthier than any other tea. For instance, Kotobuki Matcha contains 137 times more EGCG catechins than green tea.
Kotobuki Matcha, Kotobuki Earl Grey and Kotobuki Rooibos without caffeine
Kotobuki Match and Kotobuki Earl Grey contain a combination of L-theanine and caffeine. This combination results in alertness and focus, without a feeling of restlessness. Caffeine in tea, also called theine, releases its ‘booster’ slowly. Kotobuki Rooibos also contains L-theanine, but very little caffeine.
In summary: alertness with very low doses of 'caffeine'.
