Coconut milk is very popular in Asian cuisine. With its creamy structure and mild taste, coconut milk is a delicious seasoning for all your dishes, from soup to dessert. With coconut milk you can add an exotic touch to your dishes, but also bring traditional savoury dishes to taste.
Base Organic Food's coconut milk contains 17% fat and is made from King coconuts from Sri Lanka.
Coconut milk is made by mixing grated coconut with water and squeezing it out. So it is not the same as the moisture or water that is in the coconut. The more coconut is used, the more (coconut) fat is in the coconut milk. The fat percentage of coconut milk is therefore an important indication of the quality of the product.
Coconut cream is a coconut milk with a very high fat percentage. If you dilute coconut cream with water, it is the same as coconut milk. Coconut cream has a slightly thicker structure, so you can also beat a nice whipped cream with it.
