Shoyu Protein Bloc is the perfect meat substitute that you can keep in your fridge or freezer so that it is always available. The seitan block is an extraordinarily versatile meat substitute that can add a great bite to any dish.
The shoyu seitan block is easy to cut into cubes, strips or steaks as large or small as you desire. The seitan cubes or strips are a delicious meat substitute in an Indian or Thai curry, for fondues or as a barbecued satay, and the strips can be cooked with vegetables to create a vegetarian lasagne.
And if you have a mincer available, then it’s easy to turn the block of seitan into mince, adding your own mix of herbs, and turning it into a delicious home-made vegetarian burger, bolognaise sauce or mince balls. It’s quick to prepare, easy to digest and high in protein.
The seitan block is marinated in shoyu sauce, a Japanese soya sauce, which has a less pronounced salty taste than its Chinese counterpart because shoyu sauce is made of equal parts flour and soya beans.
Depending on what you decide to cook, the Shoyu Protein Bloc 550 g can be used for 4 to 7 people.
Pan-fry or grill on both sides for 5 minutes.
Add the sauce and ... ready to serve!
Alternatively, immerse it in its package in boiling water for 5 minutes.
