Binchōtan is charcoal made from Japanese oak and it is used in Asia for purifying water and cleaning teeth. Binchōtan is also known as ‘white charcoal’ and is exceptionally good at attracting impurities, thanks to its large and porous surface.
When used for purifying water, the Binchōtan charcoal draws out chemicals such as chlorine from the water and it shrinks the water molecules. This makes water taste softer and it is better for your body. In oral hygiene products Binchōtan makes your teeth whiter and helps to clean out the oral cavity.
Nordics has treated the nylon bristles of this black toothbrush with Binchōtan charcoal so that the toothbrush will clean stubborn discolouration and reduce tartar formation. For the best whitening, use this black toothbrush together with the black Charwhite tooth powder for naturally whiter teeth.
Nordics toothbrushes have soft bristles and a small head, in accordance with the recommendations of most dentists.
Sustainable Moso bamboo
The black Nordics bamboo toothbrush is treated with Binchōtan charcoal, which whitens your teeth. Charcoal binds to dirt and poisons, reducing discolouration.
Nordics opted for Moso bamboo when designing its collection of recyclable toothbrushes, and it was an easy choice:
The Moso bamboo handle for Nordics toothbrushes is perfectly safe for use. When subjected to high temperatures the naturally-appearing bacteria and enzymes are killed, after which the bamboo is rendered water resistant using a carbonisation process. That means new bacteria and fungi cannot attach themselves to it, while bamboo is also an anti-allergic material.
The Nordics bamboo toothbrush is delivered in an eco-friendly package that is made of recycled paper. The Nordics toothbrush is 100% biodegradable.
Nordics recommends that you replace your toothbrush every two months, and also that you buy a new (Nordics) toothbrush after being sick.
