✔ Aromatic dark chocolate
✔ Spicy with noticeable hints of cherry liqueur
✔ Cocoa from the Amazon region (Napo) in Ecuador
Curarai Acriollado is aromatic cocoa from a specific area of the Amazon region in Ecuador, Archidona in the province of Napo.
The cocoa can thank the region for its unique and spicy flavour. Napo is the least populated area in the Ecuadorian Amazon. The Curarai cocoa trees grow undisturbed in parts of the forest known as “Chakras”.
“Chakras” are woodland gardens with a very diverse flora. Everything thrives under the influences of one another, without any human interference or interaction. It is this natural cross-pollination that ensures the aromatic flavour of the Curarai cocoa.

The picture on the packaging of this chocolate bar has significant meaning for the founders of Aruntam. It is a picture of Juan – the head of the Shuar tribe from SapapNaint-Morona Santiago – and his wife Maria.
The Shuar are the protectors of the Amazon region in Ecuador. They live in complete symbiosis with the forest and its flora and fauna. Aruntam is a spirit named by this tribe; Aruntam is the spirit of courage.
With their chocolate product line “The Faces of the World”, Aruntam evokes admiration for all ‘real’ people, who strive with full courage to fulfil their dreams; Just like Aruntam is doing with their unique chocolate bars from the collection “The Faces of the World”.
