Each cutting board is unique in size, form and structure. The photo above is an indication but not the exact cutting board you will receive. Rest assured, we will only send you beautiful cutting boards. This particular type of cutting board, B2, the dimensions are a minimum of 16cm by 62cm.
Unique hand work
Each Qi-board is unique and handmade in a small workshop. Each beam is unique by its structure and form. This way the beautiful drawing of the wood is completely well emphasized.
No adhesives nor pressed waste wood
All Qi-boards are made from one piece, except the handle. This helps the life span of the cutting board, because no water can find its way into the cutting board through small cracks or splits. More importantly, it helps for a better health. When using pressed wood, such as beech or bamboo, adhesives or any other chemical substances, these harmful substances can find their ways into the foot cut on the cutting board.
No more obtuse knives
Camphor laurel is the ideal base for cutting for high-quality kitchen knives. Gentle enough for the blade so it won't becomes obstuse and hard enough to reduce the deepness of the blade in the wood. This prevents excessive or premature wear of the cutting board, allowing for a longer life span of both the knives and the board.
Maintenance and life span
Even with intensive domestic use, the Qi-board last for more than 10 years. The maintenance is very simple: rinse with warm water without detergent. Rub some droplets of camphor oil mixed with extra virgin coconut oil onto the cutting board once up to four times a year. Or simply make use of Amanprana's Antiseptic Oil.
Don't put the Qi-board in the dishwasher nor in the micro-wave. Do not emerge in water for longer periods of time. Do not heat.
