O’Payo Profundo is the original cocoa from Waslala, the mountainous area in the North of Nicaragua. This is the place where the Bosawas Natural Reserve is located, a large, UNESCO protected nature reserve where cocoa trees grow.

Aruntam is chocolate made of natural, indigenous ingredients. With indigenous, we mean pure, unprocessed and raw. It is the result of decades of work and love for the fruits from Mother Earth. This you can taste.
In honour to these indigenous ingredients, Aruntam has created a chocolate bar collection entitled ‘The Faces of the World’. Each bar is a tribute to the locality and to all those who were committed to giving us the best nature has to offer us. The images on the packaging of bars and the names of the chocolate bars are also a part of this.
O’Payo Profundo is a tribute to Nicaraguan cocoa. The image has been chosen carefully: the older woman symbolises wisdom, experience and the ears of wheat she holds are a symbol of rebirth and prosperity.
This is not a chocolate to chew. Break off a piece, let is melt on your tongue and enjoy.
