Biscuiterie de Provence, a family business located in a village near Avignon, was founded one day in 1833. Joseph Bedouin started in Provence, in the heart of the Enclave of the Popes, trading in local products such as almonds, apricot kernels and cherry stems. Subsequent generations of Bedouin became passionate about almonds in all their forms. Whole, powdered, chopped or crushed, the almond products were the delight of all the bakers, confectioners, ice-cream makers and nougat makers in Provence.
It was not until 1964, with the arrival of the twins Jean-Paul and Jean-Louis Bedouin, that the company itself began to transform almonds into almond paste, muesli bars and finally..... delicious biscuits according to traditional (family) recipes. The confectioners at Biscuiterie de Provence work exclusively with pure and natural ingredients. Since 1997, the company has been a biscuit factory, producing a whole range of gourmet cakes and biscuits, without gluten. The basis is still the almond, deliberately queen of this family saga, which has lasted for six generations.
