Vermeiren

Vermeiren: delicious speculoos traditionally baked

What is the story behind Vermeiren Speculoos?

As early as the 17th century, the Belgian Vermeiren family was known for the production of biscuits. In 1919 Achilles Vermeiren decided to focus exclusively on caramelized biscuits and has been doing this for 100 years now! Enjoy their organic speculoos with a cup of coffee, tea or chocolate milk. Vermeiren bakes speculoos biscuits in grandmother's and grandfather's way, for today's generation. Their crispy biscuits and creamy speculoos spread have the authentic taste of the past, but are even tastier, organic and fair trade. They are prepared exclusively with the best organic raw materials.

Sinterklaas Speculoos from Vermeiren: organic and (almost) vegan

The traditional Sinterklaas caramelized biscuit men are still formed and baked in the old way as they were 100 years ago! The dough is kneaded slowly with white flour, raw cane sugar, honey and pure vegetable fats. Without preservatives, dyes, white sugars or candy syrup. Speculoos (not to be confused with speculaas) is created by a special baking process in which the raw cane sugar caramelizes in the biscuit. Sinterklaas Speculoos is intended for young and old, for in your shoe around Sinterklaas, with a sandwich, coffee, tea or hot chocolate. A typical Belgian delicacy to enjoy in December around Sinterklaas and far beyond!

Real Belgian organic speculoos that is fair

The Vermeiren organic caramelized biscuit is at least 34% fair trade . This means a fair trade price for farmers in developing countries. In this way they can invest in their company and living conditions for a sustainable future. Furthermore, all speculoos are 100% vegetable (but honey!).
