This was and still is the simple and sincere mission with which Elina Cima began the Munio Candela studio and her first collection of scented candles back in 2008. Her sisters Laura and Liene soon followed suit, transforming it into an ever-expanding family business.

New products such as incense sticks and wax melts are also part of this expanded range. That's why the name was changed from Munio Candela to The Munio. In Latin, Munio Candela means the ‘most spiritually powerful candle.’ Each candle is carefully and lovingly handcrafted by Latvian artisans using only 100% natural soy wax and with wonderful fragrances derived from essential oils.

Soy wax candles are a superb alternative because they contain no toxic and harmful substances and tend to produce considerably less soot than paraffin candles. Moreover, these candles burn at a lower temperature than paraffin candles, causing them to melt more slowly and consequently they usually last between 30 and 50% longer. Apart from that, these soy waxes are 100% natural and GMO-free.
