How are edible mushrooms grown?

Edible mushrooms are grown in large, dark rooms in large racks containing compost. The culture accurately mimics the microclimate of undergrowth. After about 15 days, a fluffy web of white threads grows on the soil. When the first buds appear from this, the temperature is reduced. And then for the little mushroom the real, big work begins, in which they form, grow, ripen, are harvested and then grow again during three fructifications. The entire cycle takes 35 days from sowing to exhaustion of the crop compost. The finished compost is an excellent agricultural soil conditioner, thanks to the mineral salts released by the fungus.
