Product Description

Roman chamomile, also known as true chamomile, is a widely used plant in traditional medicine and cosmetics for its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. Chamomile flower water is made by distilling the blossoms of the chamomile plant, resulting in a mild, fragrant water that retains the medicinal properties of chamomile.

The flowers, which are distilled for Ladrôme's hydrolates are sourced from organic farming or from wild picking in pristine natural areas. Ladrôme's blossom waters, or hydrolates, are obtained by slow, prolonged steam distillation. During this process, the blossom water and essential oil are collected in two different layers: the oily phase on the surface and the aqueous phase underneath. The water thus extracted contains the same active molecules as the essential oil, but in much smaller quantities. Blossom water is therefore much milder and easier to use and less aggressive than essential oil.
