This mouth and throat spray optimally combines the benefits of the beehive (honey and propolis) with organic plant extracts. Echinachea, sage and thyme have a soothing effect on the throat. Narrow plantains and marigolds support optimal oral hygiene.

What is the origin of Propolis

Propolis is a sticky, waxy substance that bees make from resin that they extract from the buds of trees (mainly poplar, birch, elder, willow, linden and conifers).

The bees process this resin with their salivary enzymes and mix it with beeswax and pollen to form a golden-brown to red-brown substance, propolis.

Propolis is hard and brittle at cold temperatures, softens above 30°C and melts around 60°C - 70°C. Propolis is Greek and means suburb, which indeed indicates a protective barrier.

The bees use propolis to seal cracks and holes in the beehive, to strengthen the raten (cell cages of the larvae) and keep them germ-free, to ensure a constant optimal temperature and to protect the bee colony against invading germs, insects and foreign substances.

Propolis already appears at the time of the Egyptians, who used it to embalm the dead.
Incas know propolis mainly for its softening effect on the airways.
The Greek Aristotle mainly applied it to support the regenerative capacity of the skin.

Fresh plant extracts from:
- Echinacea* (Echinacea purpurea): boosts the mouth and throat mucous membrane's defences.
- Sage* (Salvia officinalis): cleanses the mucous membranes
- Thyme* (Thymus zygis thymol): protects the mucous membranes against germs, deodorises the breath - Calendula* (Calendula officinalis): strengthens the mucous membranes as a result of its 'astringent' effect.
- Ribwort plantain* (Plantago lanceolata): has a soothing effect on the mucosa
