In the province of Kulon Progo, central Java, where one of the farmers' associations of Lestari is present, we also work with Fairworld, which ensures that the harvest and production of our coconut blossom sugar is done with organic and fair trade principles. Both are members of Organic Alliance, an organization that competes for more organic food in Indonesia. Together we try to give 2,000 families in Kulon Progo an extra income and to protect their eco habitat. The coconut trees in their gardens now produce their own crop.
