Sprouted spelt flakes from Taiga Naturkost are full of vitality
A gentle sprouting process converts the starch into sugars and gives the spelt flakes their deliciously soft, nutty flavour. During the sprouting process, the grain is awakened from its 'sleeping state', helping its full vitality and unique characteristics emerge. The activated grains are then air-dried and crushed. Use the spelt flakes in your muesli, porridge or as topping for desserts.
Organic spelt: a source of protein
Spelt is richer in protein and more digestible than conventional wheat. Sprouting gives the spelt higher concentrations of vitamins E, C, B, amino acids and trace elements. Spelt does contain other gluten, but less than wheat.
Is spelt healthy?
Spelt is a brother to the more well-known wheat, but has a different composition and taste. In addition to more protein and fibre, it also contains more polyunsaturated fatty acids than wheat. It is rich in vitamin B3 and contains minerals such as copper, phosphorus, magnesium, iron and zinc.
