Almond butter from TerraSana: a healthy bread spread

Almond butter is made purely from lightly roasted, organic almonds. By roasting and grinding the almond skins, this almond butter acquires a particularly tasty, distinct taste. In addition, this process retains all the nutrients. Almonds are an excellent source of vitamin E, folic acid, and manganese. Vitamin E keeps the skin, nerves, muscles, red blood cells, and heart healthy. Almonds contain very little saturated fat and many of the healthy unsaturated fats.

Almond butter is delicious on roasted, sprouted or even just fresh bread, and can also turn a simple oatmeal or smoothie into a healthy celebration of rich flavours.

Recipe for oatmeal with almond butter

Ingredients (for 1 person):

• 120 ml almond milk
• 30 g dry oatmeal
• 1/2 apple
• 1/2 banana
• 1 large tbsp almond butter
• 1 tsp chopped chocolate (e.g. 76% Arriba Nacional)
• ½ tsp gingerbread spice (e.g. Sonnentor gingerbread spice)

Preparation:

• Put the almond milk and oatmeal into a pan and cook the oatmeal gently until done, in about 8 minutes.
• Cut the apple and banana into pieces.
• Allow the oatmeal to cool for a minute and serve with the pieces of apple and banana, chocolate flakes, almond butter, and some gingerbread spice.
