Not all peanuts are created equal. The peanut variety used by TerraSana to make its organic peanut butter has a lovely, full-bodied flavour and a unique consistency. The little pieces of peanut give a crunchy bite. This peanut butter is pure, organic and homemade. If you leave it in the cupboard for a while, a layer of oil may form on top. This is the natural fat of the peanuts rising to the surface. Nothing’s wrong – just stir it in.
This crunchy peanut butter is yummy on bread, rusks and crackers, but you can also use it as an ingredient in peanut sauce, peanut soup, peanut biscuits or banana bread. This nut butter fits in perfectly with a vegetarian or vegan diet.
Is nut butter a healthy spread?
It’s recommended that we all eat a handful of nuts (around 25 g) every day. The health effects of nuts are undeniable, and spreading nut butter on your sandwich is just as good as chomping on whole nuts. Peanuts are actually legumes, not nuts, but they have very similar health effects to true nuts. In an extensive test among nine of the best-known peanut butter brands in Germany, TerraSana's peanut butter was voted number 1. The test was carried out by Michael Kempf, a restaurant critic for 20 years and published in the Frankfurter Rundschau.
Recipe: Sweet peanut butter fudge from chickpeas
This fudge is a bit unconventional, but really surprisingly tasty! The combination of nuts, chickpeas and sweet makes this a delicious snack that you can take out of the freezer any moment. Of course you can vary with other types of nut butter.

Preparation time: <15 minutes
Ingredients:
- 220 g chickpeas, cooked
- 80 g of peanut butter crunchy or fine
- 10 ml coconut oil
- 75 g grade C maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp vanilla powder
- pinch of Khoisan salt
- 60 g peanuts or nuts of your choice
Preparation:
- Put all ingredients, except the peanuts or nuts, in the blender and grind completely in about 5 minutes.
- Coarsely chop the peanuts or nuts, add them to the mixture and pulse briefly so that they are well distributed.
- Put a layer of baking paper in a square plastic container, baking pan or dish.
- Put the mixture in there and put it in the freezer for 1-2 hours.
- Then cut it into small squares and put the fudge back in the freezer. This is the perfect place to keep the fudge. Remove the fudge from the freezer an hour before consumption.
