Datterini purely natural: organic date tomatoes in glass from Italy

These sweet oval date tomatoes grow on Gargano, a mountainous peninsula in the province of Foggia, also known as the 'spur' on the Italian boot. Aside from the sultry Italian sun, the only ingredients are fresh water and a pinch of salt.

The Datterino tomato is naturally rich in mineral salts and vitamins A and C. The date tomatoes are harvested and selected by hand. Their delicate and gently sweet flavour makes them ideal for both direct consumption and use in refined pasta sauces, stews, light salads and snacks such as bruschette.

Datterini tomato salad with cucumber 

INGREDIENTS (1 pers.)

12 Datterino tomatoes
1/4 cucumber
1/4 chili pepper
2 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp coconut balsamic vinegar 
black pepper
salt
chili powder

PREPARATION

Wash the cucumber, cut it lengthwise into 4 parts, and then chop it into small cubes. Remove the seeds from the chili pepper and finely chop it. Slice the Datterino tomatoes in half. Put the tomatoes in a bowl, together with the cucumber. Drizzle with the sesame oil and balsamic vinegar. Season with pepper, salt and chili powder. Toss the salad so the ingredients mix and serve cold.
